The short film "Sen'nyū", documenting the series of works created in Beppu with well known musician, 冥丁/Meitei .
The musical piece "Sen'nyū" was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beppu City's incorporation. In November 2024, over a five-day stay in Beppu, environmental sounds were recorded at various hot spring locations throughout the city, such as "Takegawara Onsen," "Bozu Jigoku," and "Hebin-yu." Based on these collected sounds, Meitei expresses both his impression of Beppu and the traditional Japanese culture of "onsen" through music.
Led by Meitei as general director and created by visual artist Hiroshi Okamoto, this film reflects the deeper narrative behind the "Senyū" project.
